Numerous specially boutiques and factory outlets are located throughout Saratoga. The Wilton Mall is located just minutes from the community. There are many other smaller malls in the County, as well as quaint shopping in the central business district of Saratoga Springs.

ART AND ANTIQUES

Saratoga boasts over twenty antique shops, many of which have multiple antique dealers. There are also many art galleries throughout the County.

ENTERTAINMENT

In addition to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, which is the summer home to the New York City Ballet, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Newport Jazz Festival and many popular entertainers, Saratoga offers year-round entertainment. The Homemade Theater and other regional theaters produce dramatic and musical performances regularly. Additional events take place at the Saratoga Springs City Center, Skidmore College, Café Lena and other locations around the County.

Hotels, lounges and clubs offer musical entertainment or dancing virtually every night of the year. Numerous movie theaters are located in Saratoga Springs.

MUSEUMS/INTERPRETIVE CENTERS

Saratoga is fortunate to be the site of three national museums: the National Museum of Racing, the National Museum of Dance and the National Bottle Museum. Additionally, there is the new Children’s Museum at Saratoga. Saratoga County History Center and Historical Society Saratoga Springs’ Museums are open year round with interesting changing exhibits. The Harness Hall of Fame is open seasonally.

The Saratoga Springs Urban Cultural Park offers guided walking tours, exhibits and videos to give you an orientation to the City. The Saratoga National Historical Park, General Phillip Schuyler House and the Saratoga Monument help recreate and depict the Battle of Saratoga, known as the turning point of the American Revolution.

RECREATION

horses.jpg The historic Saratoga Race Course is open for more than five weeks of exclusive thoroughbred racing each afternoon from late July through the beginning of September. World class polo matches also take place in Saratoga during the summer.

Downhill and cross-country skiing are within minutes from Saratoga Springs, as are ice skating rinks, public swimming pools, golf courses, bowling alleys and horseback riding stables. Saratoga Lake is located four miles southeast of the city of Saratoga Springs. The Lake is best known for sailing, outstanding bass fishing, water skiing, ice fishing and boating. A public boat launch as well as marinas and fishing guide services are available.
